Abstract

The present article aims to encourage the use of vertical garden or green wall in the domestic environment, green areas in large cities are increasingly scarce and households becoming smaller, reserving a space to create green niche is a distant reality of the majority of the population and the Vertical Garden can supply the lack of permeable area in these small spaces, providing great benefits and is an excellent tool to improve the quality of life of the user and its surroundings, performing innumerable environmental services. Through research to books and magazines, internet sites and presenting the structures and types of vertical garden, photos of works, installation techniques and vegetation used to perform phytoremediation in this domestic environment. The objective of this article is to answer the following question: Can the vertical garden be of any benefit in the home environment? The results were encouraging, observed the environmental, aesthetic and psychological improvement of the users.
