REVERSE LOGISTICS APPLIED IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

Abstract
Although the civil construction sector is one of the most important for the development of Brazil's economy, it is also one of the countries that most produces solid waste. This fact led to the creation of a series of laws and regulations, which are often not complied with, and therefore impact the environment, increase waste (increasing the cost of the work) and compromise finite natural resources. In this sense, it is believed that reverse logistics can contribute to minimize the effects of this impact. Thus, it is formulated as a research question: what is the importance and benefits of reverse logistics for the reduction of waste in civil construction? To answer this question, the general objective of this study was established: to analyze the importance of the application of reverse logistics in the management and disposal of solid waste in civil construction, seeking integration with the environment and cost reduction in the work. To this end, an exploratory literature review was carried out, in which data were collected using the bibliographic technique, ordered by the deductive method and analyzed, according to the qualitative approach. As a result, it was observed that, despite the fact that the construction companies are aware of the legislation on the management of waste from civil construction, they do not comply with it or do it partially. In addition, a very small part of this waste is reused, which demonstrates the lack of knowledge about the advantages of this process, including with regard to reducing the costs of the work itself. In this sense, it is concluded that there is a lack of knowledge about the benefits of waste management in civil construction and reverse logistics, considering that these processes not only preserve the environment, but contribute to the reduction of construction costs, for the increase in the income of cooperatives, in short, has a positive impact on society as a whole.
