THE UTILIZATION OF MARINE ARTIFICIAL REEF AS A TOOL OF RECUPERATION OF MARINE SPECIMENS

Abstract
The coastal ecosystem is characterized by being extremely complex and manage it order to meeting the requirements of the Sustainable Social Development is a huge challenge. This study examines one of these management tools is the use of Marine Artificial Reefs as a tool for recovery of Marine Fauna and Flora. The study specifically examined the release of the Marine Artificial Reef “Victory 8-B” in the south coast of Espírito Santo at a contiguous area of District of Guarapari’s. The study demonstrate in addition to recover-ing of marine fauna and flora that use of the Implementation of Marine Artificial Reef is usefull to prevent the use of the dreaded "bottom trawling". After the implementation of RAM Victory 8-B, through the management and monitoring, it was observed that both the fauna and flora so recovered and new processes for use of the area (diving contemplative) showed that the goals were achieved.
