Abstract

ABSTRACT

The constant technological evolution in line with the reduction in the life cycle of electrical and electronic products has led a significant increase in the production of these devices, which do not always have the correct final destination. In view of this, concerns arise regarding the damage arising from the erroneous disposal of this type of waste, given the presence of toxic metals in the components of most of these objects, which are potential contaminants of the soil, water or air. In view of the above, this work aims to study which are the best strategies, suggested by literature, to minimize the impasse of incorrect disposal of electronic waste. For this, a systematic review was used, which consisted of the careful analysis of articles present in the Dimensions and Periodic CAPES databases. The selected articles went through four stages called identification, screening, eligibility and inclusion. The study had a final sample of 37 articles. From this sampling, it was possible to highlight some strategies that can be used to mitigate the problem, such as reverse logistics, recycling, reuse, and others. In view of this, this study may serve as a foundation for future research aimed at the application of efficient strategies to face the problem, and add actions aimed at reducing the damage caused by the erroneous disposal of electronic waste.
