Abstract
ABSTRACT
The use of biochar to improve the soil in cover layers of landfills has been considered as a viable alternative in reducing the emission of gases into the atmosphere. However, data related to this subject in the scientific literature are still considered scarce. Based on these facts, this work proposed to carry out a bibliometric analysis about studies related to the use of biochar in solid waste landfills. It was possible to observe scientific productions involving the theme of biochar in several countries. The greatest contribution of authors related to this topic is located in Asia, with 51.82%, followed by America with 17.00%, Europe with 14.55%, Oceania with 12.12%, and Africa with 4.55% , with emphasis on the USA and China. The most frequent terms in journals focus on words related to the theme (biochar) and the context of the study (landfill and waste). In the similarity analysis, the most significant group highlighted the word biochar, having from it, derivation between the other terms and groups. The analysis of the particularities and the descending hierarchical arrangement indicated a relationship between the text segment classes, demonstrating a yield of 82.61%. Finally, the factor analysis pointed out the relationships through the terms waste, research, water, surface, CH4, cover and oxidation. The analyzed data allowed us to infer that biochar is an object of study that is in evidence in several countries, due to the scientific potential of the application of this technology to reduce the emission of gases in sanitary landfills.
