Abstract

ABSTRACT

This paper discusses alternatives to reduce pollution generated by automobiles, through the use of renewable energy. It is known that pollution emitted by automobiles causes harm to the planet and to living beings. The purpose of this paper is to propose alternatives for the reduction and replacement of vehicles that use fossil fuels. There are technological advances and methods to eliminate the polluting effects of automobiles. Cars known as hybrids are powered by electricity and gasoline/alcohol/diesel, but these are not completely effective in preventing environmental pollution, because they still use fossil fuels. There are already vehicles that are powered 100% by electricity through batteries. However, in the case of batteries, there is still the possibility of pollution if they are not properly treated and disposed of, which can lead to contamination and pollution. New revolutionary non-polluting inventions of vehicles that do not use batteries stand out. These are new technological discoveries, known as ultracapacitors, but they are still being studied and tested. Ultracapacitors can indeed replace highly toxic lithium-ion batteries. The result is a less polluted and pleasant environment to live in especially in large cities, which are the major problem currently caused by pollution.
