Abstract

ABSTRACT

The present article is a theoretical essay that has as study object the dispute of production of food and/or biofuel. Considering that “the market " doesn't give bill of setting out the problem, it discusses the theme in the optics of the New Institutional Economy (NEI), in their two analytical slopes, micro and macro-economical, giving emphasis to the last. Concludes proposing an analytical framework, in which the insert of two new restrictions is been considered essential for improving of the theory: a new natural " restriction " (that considers the capacity of the planet Earth) and the reinforcement of the Ethical "restrictions" (that treats of the question of the distribution of the wealth and of the property right).
