PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PBL) IN CHEMISTRY TEACHING: PROMOTION FOR FEMALE SUSTAINABILITY AND EMPOWERMENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
Project-Based Learning (PBL) aims to enable students to engage in topics considered abstract and complex. In this teaching experience report, we have as a background the project entitled “Soap as a form of conservation and empowerment”. This study aims to present a report of teaching experience through the perception of two approaches promoted in the school context (1) environmental conservation and (2) female empowerment from the PBL approach. Regarding the environmental issue, the reuse of polluting products such as residual cooking oil carried out by the students themselves provided opportunities for social and environmental awareness. This study pointed to indications of the promotion of the empowerment of its participants, especially women, as it provided new perspectives for action, including through extra income for socialization in the Bethel community.
