Main Article Content
Abstract
Noise pollution is the third source of air pollutants causing many short and long term health problems. The impacts caused are sound stressors, which affect both man and animals in a harmful way to the balance of the environment. This article aims to study the degree of knowledge declared by the population of Pernambuco regarding existing public policies regarding noise pollution and noise interference in the behavior of neighboring residents. The method adopted for this research was the elaboration of a research form, with questions about noise pollution, pertinent legislation and loud sound from neighbors, through Google Forms, ending with analysis and discussion, from the intersection of the answers with the qualification of respondents. It was found that sex did not interfere with responses, as noise pollution affects both men and women equally. The age group, on the other hand, interfered with some oscillations in the responses, with progressive increase, with each age range and degree of knowledge. It was found that people over 40 years of age demonstrated to have more knowledge of public policies, as well as the level of education, especially graduates, due to the dialogues practiced at Universities. It´s concluded that to obtain a balance in the sustainable environment, it must follow the recommendations of noise reduction, with monitoring and mapping, mitigating the risks and control of noise pollution, for the acoustic comfort of the city.
