Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the degree of trophy and the levels of heavy metals in the water mirror located in the watershed near the dump in the municipality of Morada Nova - CE. Taking into account that the municipal solid waste is improperly discarded, being thrown in an open dump without any monitoring, bringing several problems for the environment and for the population. For nearby communities, the main problems generated are the proliferation of rats, flies, insects, causing various health problems. Among the environmental problems we can mention the pollution of soil, air, groundwater, surface water, as is the case of the water mirror present in its surroundings. With this, the work sought to evaluate the degree of contamination of the water mirror, diagnosing its degree of trophy through the determination of the Trophic State Index (IET), where the results of the chemical analysis of the water were shown in the Oligotrophy range. , in addition to the evaluation of the concentration of heavy metal levels present in the water, with Chromium being the only metal that presented concentrations above the recommended by the relevant legislation.
