INCLUSION OF SUSTAINABILITY IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT: A PERCEPTION STUDY

Abstract
This article is part of the management and sustainability studies. It aimed to map the perception of different stakeholders in relation to the project's socio-environmental
management process. The methodology used involved the application of a qualitative and quantitative questionnaire seeking to collect the perception about project management and sustainability of project managers, representatives of project management teams with a focus on the environment and socio-economics, both from private companies and , representatives of government agencies. The results indicated an advance in the perception regarding the importance of sustainability in its economic, environmental and social dimensions in all stages of the project management process (beginning, planning, execution, monitoring and control and closing), which demonstrates an improvement in project management, with regard to mainly the importance of environmental and social requirements.
