Abstract
This article is based in Search of the need minimize the impact on the environment with the construction of a fauna wildlife crossing on a state road network and consequently on its safety. This investigation was based on the technical visit to the first green bridges in the state of São Paulo, which structure takes place on Tamoios Highway – km 25+800 in the municipality of Paraibuna (SP) and is part of one of the actions of mitigation and compensation done because of the duplication work on the plateau stretch, one of the largest road works in Brazil. The adopted methodology was based on bibliographic consultations and a technical inspection, to raise the importance of the effectiveness of the fauna passageway in reducing the roadkills of species and accidents with vehicles. That visit was monitored by environmental analysts from Tamoios concessionaire.
