Abstract
ABSTRACT
The socio-environmental phenomenon, refugee from the climate, has been increasing in recent years, forcing communities to forcibly migrate in search of less vulnerable areas. And sub-Saharan Africa, due to its peculiar characteristics of double exposure, has been one of the regions most affected by the phenomenon. That is why this research focused its analysis on the correlation between changes in land use, increased climate vulnerability, increased weather events and climate migration in the region. And because of this correlation, the research envisaged its evolution for the year 2050, reflecting on sustainable alternatives within the climate adaptation agenda. The research was based on a systematic review of the literature, seeking to develop correlation of 4 variables: changes in land use, climate vulnerability, weather events and climate migration. The research concluded that rapidly progressing events (mainly floods) are positively correlated with climate migrations.
