Abstract
ABSTRACT
Alternative land use in microbasin areas causes changes in the landscape and compromises several ecosystem services. Therefore, the problem of impacts on these territorial units continues and, therefore, they must be researched in different ways, including land use and coverage, which justifies and increases the relevance of this research, whose objective was to carry out a quantitative-qualitative analysis of land use and coverage in the Uraim river microbasin area, Paragominas-PA, for the years 2012 and 2014. To this end, a search was carried out in the database of the National Institute for Space Research to obtain files (shapefile) relating to land use, belonging to the Terraclass project. The spatial data were processed in the ArcMap 10.1 software environment. The classes worked on were secondary vegetation, forest area, deforestation, reforestation, clean pasture, dirty pasture, hydrography, urban area and annual agriculture. Data analysis shows that the forest class has the highest quantity, followed by clean pasture, secondary vegetation, annual agriculture and dirty pasture, while the deforestation, reforestation, hydrography and urban area classes presented the lowest quantities of land use. in the evaluated period. The use and coverage of land in the Uraim river microbasin, as a territorial unit, has undergone changes following the conversion of natural areas, mainly into pasture areas, reflecting the development of agricultural activities, carried out in the municipality of Parag
