Abstract
ABSTRACT
The present study aimed to present undue contributions to the sewage network in the district of Barão Geraldo in Campinas-SP throughout 2016. To this end, technical data provided by a Water Supply and Sanitation company in the region was used. The methodology used was the collection of such data to present undue contributions. Some data were: sewage return rate and infiltrations, return coefficient, volume of sewage treated, volume of water consumed, rainfall index, electricity consumption index and biochemical oxygen demand. This study provided results that indicated possible leaks, infiltrations or contributions of rainwater and clandestine connections in the sewage system. The results were analyzed through graphs and tables and also by combining the data. Undue water, leaks and infiltrations in the sewage collection network impact flow rates and interfere with all segments of the sewage system, especially the interceptors and outfalls. Leaks contribute to the loss of sewage underground, which can lead to groundwater contamination. In this sense, this study's main objective was to verify undue contributions to the sewage network and bring improvements to the sewage system, making it possible to diagnose non-standard behavior. Based on the information obtained, it was possible to plan actions to prevent or correct interference in the sanitary sewage network.
