Abstract

ABSTRACT

The ABC+SC Program was built through practices guided by the State Management Group and its member institutions and aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with the involvement of entities in the sector, through the adoption of innovative technologies and the dissemination of knowledge to rural families in Santa Catarina. The ABC+SC program's guiding principles are addressing the adverse impacts of climate change, increasing resilience and sustainability in the agricultural sector. To enhance the state's capacity to leverage resources so that rural producers can access sustainable technologies at more affordable costs, promoting family and regenerative agriculture in the state of Santa Catarina, through the ABC+ National Plan, factors were determined for the technologies used with the capacity to mitigate the emission of Greenhouse Gases - GHG, for each of the Sustainable Production Systems - SPS in accordance with the technologies provided and which are directly related to the actions of the ABC+SC Program, which already covers more than 140 thousand hectares and the mitigation in the period from 2022 to 2024 represented 15.2 million tons of CO2eq (15,252,103 t.CO2eq). This reduction in emissions from the sector represents 32% of the total annual emissions in Santa Catarina, revealing a highly positive impact.
