Abstract
ABSTRACT
The objective of this study were to use simple didactic resources and methodology that can also be used by schools, to evaluate the water quality of River Ouro Grosso and River Betari in some specific points in Bairro da Serra, Iporanga, SP, in physical parameters -chemical and microbiological. Sample collection was carried out at 4 different points, with 6 samplings and a bimonthly frequency in the years 2022-2023, totaling 24 samples. To analyze the samples, a multianalysis kit and culture of total and fecal coliforms were used. Point 1 proved to be a reference point (desirable), point 2 proved to be the most degraded in the entire data set due to the dumping of domestic effluents and other sources of contamination, and points 3 and 4, which are widely used for recreational purposes, they also showed important changes according to the recommended parameters. The study showed that in Bairro da Serra, many investments from the Public Power are still needed to alleviate the problem of water contamination, with the installation of septic tanks and expansion of the collection and treatment of domestic sewage.
