Abstract

ABSTRACT

Given the growing impact of climate change and the frequency of environmental incidents in urban areas, innovative and integrated solutions are urgently needed. ClimateChain was developed as a practical response to monitor and alert, in real time, about fires, water leaks and power failures in the city of Marília-SP, ensuring fast and effective actions. The main contribution of the project is the combination of technology and public participation. In the area of technology, environmental sensors, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), climate sensors and satellite images provide accurate data. Regarding public participation, a digital platform open to the population allows residents to report problems, creating a collaborative information network. The bibliographic research and development of the website were carried out based on data collected in articles between 2015 and 2025 (Google Scholar, SciELO) and local records. The results obtained demonstrated the following facts: (a) the system reduced the response time to emergencies, avoiding greater damage and optimizing municipal resources; (b) the transparency generated by the platform has increased the population's trust in government actions. It can be concluded that ClimateChain goes beyond a technical tool, being an example of how collaboration between social engagement and innovation can drive the construction of more resilient cities. The project contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), with citizen participation and the use of technologies to address urban environmental challenges.
