Abstract
ABSTRACT
High noise levels have been a serious problem for society, since they cause harm to health. In many cases, monitoring these noise levels requires engineering solutions that demand some planning. In this context, this research developed a methodology for evaluating and monitoring noise control in the vicinity of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Federal University of Pernambuco. The measurements of the Sound Pressure Level in situ and the geospatialization of this parameter were examined, using cartographic tools and methods, such as QGIS and the Inverse Square of Distances interpolator, which allowed predicting the behavior of noise in the region to build a database that will support further studies.Furthermore, it was possible to produce a photographic report of the location of interest as a preliminary reconnaissance stage, which made it possible to identify key and sensitive points in the hospital's surroundings.
