AN ANALYSIS OF CREDIT COOPERATIVES IN THE DIGITAL AGE: TRENDS AND CHALLENGES

Abstract

This study aims to investigate and describe how credit unions are preparing for this era of digital transformation, and what are the main challenges that cooperatives face in order to continue providing financial services to their members. The study aims to analyze the resources and investments that the cooperatives are allocating to incorporate new technologies already approved, referred to as the main technological actions that are adopted by the cooperatives to make business more flexible in the digital age and actions in progress to accompany the technological evolution to strengthen the cooperative culture. The main actions that the three largest institutions of the cooperative credit system are currently carrying out to qualify for assistance in this digital scenario are described.
