Abstract

This theoretical essay aims to understand the impacts caused by the environmental conflict regarding to conventional agriculture and, through the literature review, find possible alternatives to overcome the problem and point out solutions to this conflict. In this sense, one of the major causes of the environmental problems linked to conventional agriculture is the exacerbated use of agrochemicals. Thus, as an alternative to conventional agriculture, organic agriculture is presented, since the products and services of organic origin are adhered to environmental and social gains, certifications and market values are also being acquired. Such guarantees correspond to transformations that insert, influence and pressure changes in the way of relating with the environment, in the way of cultivating, transforming and consuming food.
