Abstract

This case study addressed the importance of animal welfare in the production process of the dairy chain, its implications for animal management, as well as practical examples carried out on the property visited for the study. With the data discussed, it is possible to carry out a subsequent analysis on the realization of the necessary methods to obtain the required international standards of animal welfare and their implications for milk production. Among the good practices adopted by the studied property, we can highlight good management in the production process, availability of adequate facilities for the needs of animals in the productive stage, use of machinery and tools necessary in the production process, and good strategic planning of the property. Such points lead the property in question to reach good productivity standards with sustainability, with a well-organized family organizational culture, the property has been growing and expanding its production, generating wealth for those involved in the production process chain.
