GERENCIAMENTO DE LODOS EM ESTAÇÕES DE TRATAMENTO DE ÁGUA SLUDGE MANAGEMENT IN WATER TREATMENT PLANTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
The increase in the world population is overloading the water supply systems since the water must, when leaving the Treatment Station - ETA, meet specific quality standards and the degradation of the springs is responsible for the increase in the use of chemical products in the purification processes. As a result, there is a greater generation of sludge that requires treatment for its final destination. However, according to ABNT, this type of waste is classified as reusable, and can be used in civil construction, in the recovery of degraded soils and in the cultivation of plants. This article is a bibliographical review, where it presents several studies of ETA sludge management in Brazil and in the world, as a way to encourage the adoption of these practices in Rio Grande do Norte.
